Nature WritingRead. Play. Atelier. — original passage
The garden looked different in the early morning. Mist hung low over the rows of green, and every leaf wore a coat of silver dew. A robin landed on the fence post, tilted its head, and watched. Somewhere under the soil, roots were already at work, pulling water up toward the sun. Nothing in the garden was ever truly still, even when it looked like it was.
FictionRead. Play. Atelier. — original passage
Maya pushed open the gate, and it groaned like it hadn't been touched in years. Inside, the garden was a tangle of vines and forgotten paths. She stepped carefully over a fallen branch and noticed something strange: a small wooden door, half-hidden behind a curtain of ivy, built right into the garden wall. She had lived next door her whole life. How had she never seen it before?

For grown-ups:Read to Learn readers are crossing the bridge from decoding into meaning-making. Both passages above were written for this page, so your reader can return to them again and again. The biggest gift you can give at this stage is genuine curiosity about what they think — not whether they got it right. Ask about their word choices. Listen to their sentences.
